The film was released in America on Ma( it had an earlier release in Europe and Asia), and is the third Disney Animated Feature to use exclusively anthropomorphic animal characters after 1973's Robin Hood (1973) and 2005's Chicken Little (outside of the 40s package films, at least). Soon, however, the two become involved in a conspiracy that threatens all of Zootopia, which forces them to overcome their differences and ultimately become friends. There, she encounters Nick Wilde ( Jason Bateman), a fast-talking fox Con Artist whom she manages to blackmail into helping her solve a missing persons case. Judy Hopps ( Ginnifer Goodwin) is an idealistic, cheery and optimistic young bunny who's left home to be a police officer in the big city of Zootopia.

Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together-a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Nick believes that Judy’s dreams are just fantasy and makes it a point to let her know his feelings. However, he soon finds out there is more to her than meets the eye. As a life long resident of Zootopia, when he runs into Judy Hopps he assumes she’s just another rabbit from the country. Therefore, he embraces being a con artist and makes it a point to be the best in the game. Nick Wilde is a fast talking, untrustworthy, sly fox that believes you are what you are, so why fight it.

However, Judy refused to give up on her dream and really takes to heart the motto of the big city: “In Zootopia, anyone can be anything.” She doesn’t like bullies and stands up for the little guy.Īlthough, Judy isn’t big and strong like her colleagues, she learns how to use her natural skills to excel at the job even though her boss Chief Bogo doesn’t want a bunny in his force. Sadly, the odds were stacked against her being Zootopia’s first police officer who also happens to be a bunny. Ever since she was a little girl, she wanted to be a police officer. Judy Hopps is a small town girl from Bunnyburrow with big dreams. That fundamental idea folded beautifully into our story of a bunny and a fox, natural enemies, both assuming something about each other, but learning their assumptions are completely wrong once they are forced to team up.” Meet Judy Hopps “We talked to an incredible bias expert, Shatki Butler,” adds producer Clark Spencer, “who said that it is hard to be biased against someone once you get to know him. Because I spent a day getting to know and love the world of ‘Zootopia’ and it’s two stars, I thought the only proper thing to do was to introduce them to you.
